Hello! I’m Dr. Dale Kimberlin, and I have deep roots in Ankeny—where I was born and raised long ago. After leaving to pursue my education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, a path many chiropractors have taken, I spent over 20 years practicing in New York and New Jersey. Recently, I returned to Ankeny, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to care for family, friends, and the vibrant community that’s grown here.
It’s remarkable how much has changed since I was last in Ankeny. When I left, there were only a handful of chiropractors, but now the options have expanded significantly—that’s what I call progress! I know you have many choices when it comes to your healthcare, so I invite you to read on and learn more about my practice.
With 25 years of patient care experience, I’ve had the privilege of educating both patients and fellow doctors. Throughout my career, I’ve encountered thousands of individuals, from newborns to elite athletes, and everyone in between. I’ve been trained by some of the foremost leaders in our field, gaining insights and techniques that I’ve put into practice for those who trust me with their health.
Whether you’re recovering from injuries, seeking relief from ailments, or aiming to enhance your athletic performance, my extensive experience equips me to assist you. If you suspect exposure to Lyme disease, mold, or chemicals like Roundup/Glyphosate, I’m here to help. I also offer detoxification services and have a diverse range of solutions for various conditions, including back, neck, and joint pain, golfer’s elbow, and plantar fasciitis. If I can’t help you directly, I’ll ensure you find someone who can.
Additionally, I’ve enjoyed the honor of serving as the Team Chiropractor for the North American Football League, and I’m a certified CrossFit Level One trainer. I’ve also worked as a F.I.T. doctor and was previously the staff chiropractor for the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance’s corporate office.
Outside of my practice, I have a range of hobbies that keep me engaged. I love riding my motorcycle, training in various martial arts, carpentry, home renovations, and cooking. I even dabbled in semi-competitive powerlifting during my time in New York, which I continue to enjoy.
Thank you for considering me as your partner in health. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
The office is conveniently located in Uptown Ankeny at the corner of S.W. School and SW 3rd St.

Dr. Dale has been a great resource and very knowledgeable about health. I trust Dr. Dale with my health conditions and for anyone in my family. Thanks Dr. Dale for giving me truthful health info, highly recommended. C.P.
Our chiropractic adjustments are not only safe and minimally invasive but also highly effective. We utilize a range of techniques to help restore your body’s natural alignment, alleviate pain, enhance sleep quality, boost energy levels, and improve overall function and mobility.
At the heart of our approach is the restoration of proper neurological communication—what we refer to as “The Adjustment.” This process enhances how your body operates. It’s a straightforward concept: just as an orchestra needs a conductor to create harmony, your body requires coordination between its various parts. Think of your brain and nerves as the central system that ensures your organs and bodily functions work together seamlessly in different environments.
Chiropractic care is uniquely positioned to support your nervous system in functioning optimally, all without relying on addictive medications or risky surgical interventions. By choosing conservative care at our office, you could save time, money, and the potential side effects associated with more invasive treatments.
Let us help you achieve a healthier, more balanced life!
We understand that every patient is unique, which is why we develop custom treatment plans tailored to your individual needs and goals. Dr. Kimberlin will work with you to create a plan that suits your needs and budget.
Many people feel uneasy about the cracks and pops often featured on social media—some even cringe at the thought of it! If you share those concerns, you’re in luck. Our office specializes in low-force techniques, which means you don’t need to hear a pop or crack to benefit from an effective adjustment. In fact, that sound doesn’t determine the quality of the results you’ll experience. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities, and we’re here to provide the care you need without any of the worries!
Absolutely, we can do that too! Sometimes, a more hands-on approach is necessary, using traditional adjustment techniques—the kind most people envision when they think of chiropractic care. While it’s not the only method available, many individuals feel more satisfied when they hear or feel something move during their adjustment. After nearly 130 years, manual adjustments remain popular for one simple reason: they work! We’re here to provide the best care tailored to your needs, whether through gentle techniques or more traditional methods.
Healing takes time. By the time many people visit a chiropractor, they’re often grappling with pain or a decline in their abilities. It’s easy to feel like you’re behind the eight ball, reacting to issues that could have been addressed sooner. We’ve all heard the saying, “If it doesn’t hurt, it’s not broken,” and I understand that mindset. However, just like it’s easier to fix a roof when it’s not raining, it’s far more effective to be proactive about your health.
Remember, often times, it’s the steady base hits that win the game—not just the occasional home run. After your first chiropractic adjustment, you may feel fantastic, but for some, the issues can be more complex than initially thought, requiring a bit more time to fully recover.
rest assured, we’ve honed our approaches over decades to help reduce recovery times and get you the relief you need as quickly as possible. Let’s work together on your healing journey!
Red Light Therapy is gaining popularity for good reason. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) offer significant benefits, but it’s important to note that red light therapy is not the same as true LASER therapy. In physics, "LASER" stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. This term describes a highly focused and coherent light beam, where photons travel in the same direction. If you’re curious about the physics behind LASERs and their biological effects, diving into concepts like electron volts and Cytochrome C Oxidase can be quite fascinating!
In simple terms, the human body responds to light in a way that’s reminiscent of how plants react. It’s been said that humans are like houseplants with feelings—an amusing thought! Just as plants absorb sunlight (photons) and convert light energy into chemical energy through photosynthesis, humans process light photons similarly. LASER therapy enhances the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the energy currency of our cells.
The more ATP your body produces, the better your cells can function. With a full "tank" of ATP, your cells repair faster and communicate more effectively. This leads to stronger muscles, reduced pain, and increased energy levels—allowing you to perform at your best.
If you’ve suffered a sports injury, we’re here to help you recover and return to your active lifestyle. Our comprehensive sports injury treatment services include chiropractic care, rehabilitative care and more to support your healing process.
It's important to understand that not all LASERs are created equal. Some high-energy LASERs can have undesirable effects, while our LASER operates at low energy—under 5 milliwatts—with no side effects. After 15 years of using LASER technology in my practice, I continue to be amazed by the capabilities of Low Energy LASER therapy. It feels like we’re really giving our patients an edge in their recovery, and I wouldn’t want to practice without it!
This FX 635 LASER is a little different than the others we use. Slightly more power and is used as a passive intervention. I like it for sprains and strains, inflammation and pain control, concussion support and brain health, painful discs, pre- and post-operative procedures, scars, and a host of other things.
The FX 635 has a few FDA level one A studies (a million bucks a piece) that demonstrated the FX LASER reduced Low back pain by 58% with just 8 sessions. no drugs, no therapy, no chiropractic adjustments just LASER. When we combine other procedures the results are more impressive. The second study showed 50% reduction in heel pain from plantar fasciitis doing nothing more than using the FX LASER in just six sessions. The pain remained improved for up to 12 months (the length of the study) after treatment.
The FX 635 LASER is the only LASER in the world to be FDA approved to treat plantar fasciitis, chronic low back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.
This LASER is also capable of emulsifying fat, whereby the size of the fat cell shrinks like a raisin. Smaller fat cells reduce the measurements of the waist, hips, and butt. Smaller love handles and being able to fit into smaller clothes are what happens after lipo LASER.
The structural architecture of the body starts with its foundation. The feet are that foundation. It is often the case that a fault exists in the arch of the foot. Contrary to popular opinion, the feet have more than one arch - three, in fact. Together they form the plantar vault: a dome shaped structure designed to absorb and disperse energy. This vault propels you forward, much like a spring when it unloads after compression, adding efficiency to your movement.
People look at a nonweight bearing foot and think they have good arches. Assessing the arches, as we do, is done standing with the full weight of the body on the feet. We take a LASER digital footprint and precisely measure the arches. Think of a car tire that is flat. It only flattens under the weight of the car. Same with the foot, so it is important to have this test done in our office, where we will show you how your foundation is performing. Losing even one of the three arches is not without consequence. We fit you for custom-made orthotics to restore the arches and fortify the plantar vault, balancing the foundation and the rest of the body.
Being active calls for moving and moving well. Again, fallen arches interfere with being an active, dynamic human being. With every step that the impact force is not absorbed and dispersed properly, an overload occurs that breaks down joints and tissues. When the arch integrity is lost, that impact force travels up the kinetic chain and is transferred to the knees, hips, back, and neck.
Many people come to us seeking relief from back and neck pain, often unaware that the arches of their feet could be playing a silent role in those issues. They might visit doctor after doctor, trying one treatment after another, all while overlooking the foot foundation. Over time, neglected foot health can lead to significant joint degradation, potentially resulting in the need for surgical intervention. Instead of waiting for these complications to arise, I encourage you to visit our office for a LASER digital foot scan. This valuable assessment will help us understand how your arches are performing and whether they could be contributing to your discomfort. Let’s address the root of the problem together!
Whether it is for discs in the low back or neck, spinal decompression is a fabulous way to address spinal stenosis, disc bulges, and disc herniations.
Discs are extremely painful when they are stretched or cracked from imbalances that force the center of the disc to the outside. When the body is out of balance and not centered, excessive strain is placed on certain tissues (Maggs Law of tissue tolerance), and they ultimately break down. Tissues are the muscles, tendons, meniscus, discs, and ligaments. Decompression studies since the 1950's have found it to be effective at reducing discomfort, hydrating dried out discs, and making more room for the nerves that have been inflamed and irritated by the enlarged disc.
The deformed disc can put enough pressure on the nerves that pain travels down the spine, down the arm, into the groin, down the leg, up into the head, or into the feet and hands. Decompression is effective at alleviating radiating pain.
The same nerve pressure that can cause so much pain can also shut down muscle strength. Dropping the coffee cup, dragging a foot, not being able to stand unassisted, are all indications that decompression may be necessary.
Loss of strength and pain are not the only symptoms of nerve pressure. Numbness and tingling are different ways of your body telling you something is wrong. Make an appointment we would be happy to see if I can help you!
Patient-directed dip traction is a simple and effective way to encourage the neck to reestablish the loss of spinal curvature. It feels good to be able to move again as well as taking strain off the spinal cord and nerves that are inside of the spine.
When the natural curve of the neck is lost or reduced, it leads to forward head posture. This means that the head is positioned ahead of the body and shoulders, resembling a chicken with a pronounced "buffalo hump" in more severe cases. A straight neck—resulting from this loss of curvature—can place excessive strain on the spinal cord, leading to discomfort and other issues. It's crucial to address these changes to maintain proper alignment and overall health.
“Loss of the cervical curve stretches the spinal cord 5-7 cm and causes disease.”
Dr. A. Breig, Neurosurgeon (Nobel Prize recipient)
“Deviations in the body’s center of gravity caused poor posture, which resulted in intestinal problems, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, osteoporosis, hip and foot deformities, poor health, decreased quality of life, and a shortened life span.”
Freeman JT., Posture in the Aging and Aged Body, JAMA 1957; 165(7),pp 843-846 JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association)
“For every inch of Forward Head Posture, it can increase the weight of the head on the spine by an additional 10 pounds.”
Kapandji, Physiology of Joints, Vol. 3
“Forward Head Posture LEADS to long term Muscle strain, disc herniations, arthritis and pinched nerves.”
Mayo Clinic, Nov. 3rd, 2000
Having better neck positioning helps optimize health and function (performance) leading to normalizing range of motion and reducing neurological strain. Remember ,the better your nervous system operates, the better health you will enjoy.
In normal anatomical position 90% of the energy output of the brain is used in relating the physical body to gravity. Only 10% has to do with thinking, metabolism and healing.
*So when you have forward head posture, loss of curve or subluxation your brain will rob energy from your thinking (brain fog), metabolism (unexplained weight gain and fatigue), and healing (all sickness and disease) because it will need more than the normal 90% energy output to deal with it.

This may be the largest vibration plate you have seen, and that's because we do not want to be limited on the number of exercises, stretches and neuromuscular reeducation we can do on it.
Vibration will activate hundreds of muscles that would not normally engage without the use of the vibe plate. Benefits are increased strength, better balance, improved flexibility, enhanced bone strength, lymphatic drainage, and better circulation.
Whether you're a pro or a weekend warrior, a middle school, high school, or college athlete, we can help you recover from sports injuries and get back to top performance. Our sports injury treatments are tailored to your specific needs. Our services are not just for the Olympics or professionals.
Skepticism often arises when people encounter concepts they don’t understand, especially those that aren’t visible to the naked eye. Newtonian physics provides tangible explanations for many phenomena we experience daily, while quantum physics delves into the more abstract realms of matter and energy—think electrons, protons, and atoms.
Our bodies possess unique energy signatures, and as practitioners, we can engage in a "quantum conversation" with this energetic aspect of the body. By utilizing muscle testing through the nervous system, we can assess how external energies interact with the body. Some energies may inhibit muscle tone, while others have little to no effect. This binary feedback allows us to identify potential issues—whether it’s pesticides, mold, or other substances that might be affecting your health.
For instance, if the body shows a reaction to aluminum but that reaction diminishes when paired with a specific supplement, we can help facilitate the body’s natural detoxification process. In essence, we’re looking for balance: when we reach the equation -1 + 1 = 0, we’ve found the right solution.
This approach not only enhances our understanding of health but also empowers us to tailor treatments that align with your body’s unique needs.
Much the same as a DVD holds data for you to watch Field of Dreams or Titanic, the energy vials hold the energetic essence of the label, things like Lyme Bacterum, industrial/environmental chemicals, parasites, and heavy metals. The nutritional solutions to these energetic reactors cancel out what the energetic body reacted to. By canceling the energies, it is understood that the right solutions have been selected and will help the body heal itself from the overload of toxicities.
You may wonder, how can food truly heal the body? The answer lies in chemistry. To achieve optimal health, we need two essential components: sufficiency and purity. Sufficiency refers to having enough beneficial elements in our lives—like clean air, natural light, pure water, movement, love, purpose, and, of course, nutrients. Unfortunately, many people struggle to get enough of these vital components.
In our toxic world, purity is equally important. We often know what’s harmful to us, but let’s simplify it: would you choose an apple or a donut? The answer is clear—the apple wins every time. Yet, as a society, we often indulge in too many donuts, missing out on the healing properties of the organic, non-GMO, naturally grown fruits that nourish our bodies.
We are designed to consume foods that provide the raw materials necessary for regeneration and sustainability. Instead, we frequently fill our bodies with toxic, synthetic, and adulterated imitations of real food. When symptoms arise, society, influenced by big pharmaceutical programming, often teaches us to silence those signs rather than understand the cause. Those drugs are poor copies of what is found in nature. That includes foods. The poor copies are patented and marketed as superior to what God has already provided.
It’s time to embrace the healing power of whole, nutritious foods. They provide the raw materials needed by the body to operate in a way that brings health and vitality. By making conscious choices, we can foster a robust quality of life.
Pharmaceuticals are made from petroleum and chemically synthesized as alternatives inspiration from the rich array of nutrients and phytochemicals present in food and herbs. While these synthetic options can provide benefits, it’s important to recognize the incredible healing potential that plants offer. Nature has its own remedies, which have been used for generations to support our health
A focus on natural, nutrient-dense foods can contribute significantly to our overall health. When our bodies are nourished with sufficient, pure elements, we create a foundation for optimal well-being. This aligns with the terrain theory, which emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy internal and external environment.
By prioritizing our health through natural choices, we empower ourselves and can reduce our reliance on pharmaceuticals. Embracing a holistic approach to wellness can lead to a more vibrant life.
Having a baseline understanding of body metrics is important for understanding the true health measure. People often think that as long as they feel relatively fine that all is well below the surface. We have the technology to measure body fat and muscle percentages, lean muscle mass, and symmetry. Visceral fat and body water are important in understanding one's basic health potential. Seeing the numbers often helps patients find the motivation to change their lifestyle decisions that are leading them away from the life and health they desire.
At our practice, we believe that true improvement goes beyond just how our patients feel or look—it’s about seeing tangible results through numbers and data. After all, seeing is believing. For instance, even if the scale doesn’t show a weight loss, you might notice a reduction in body fat and an increase in muscle mass. This progress is a clear indicator that you’re moving toward your goals, and we’re here to celebrate that journey with you.
You'll take a moment to complete the paperwork, and then we can dive right into exploring how I can help you find the solution you're looking for.
